 Member of Countryside Artisans

For the Countryside Artisans Tours, Tiewyan Textiles is converted into an art collective curated by Bev Thoms, becoming Tiewyan Artisans. The Countryside Artisans of Maryland represents a selected group of accomplished visual, sculptural, and textile artists working in oil, pastel, watercolor, pencil, ceramics, porcelain, glass, enamel, stone, wood, yarn, textiles, photography, tea, hops and grapes. The Countryside Artisans jointly open their galleries and studios located in historic, rural Montgomery, Howard and Frederick Counties for three art tours each year in April, October and December: Friday Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm each day. The tour is self-guided, in which customers visit with artists in their studios, learn about the process of making art, and hopefully, make many purchases.

Tiewyan Artisans

My studio (Tiewyan Textiles) experience is slightly different in that I display & represent art from a variety of artists in addition to my own work. I have developed a fan base of devoted customers who come precisely because they enjoy seeing a diversity of work in different mediums, and because of the quality of that work. My studio is in my barn, on our sheep farm in Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve.

For most of its life, my studio is a working space filled with the clutter of creativity. With a lot of elbow grease, three times a year it is transformed by beautiful displays of talented work into an inviting and enchanting gallery in the midst of a stunningly beautiful rural landscape. Please check back in advance of each tour for information on the artists whose work will be featured.
